Waiheke Island is a food and wine lovers paradise. With over 20 vineyards producing a wide variety of world-class wines combined with beautiful locations, our Waiheke Island Wine Tour is a wonderful way to explore the island.
As our name suggests we specialise in tailored tours so just let us know if there are particular vineyards that you would like to visit and we will craft a tour just for you!
Your Waiheke Island Wine Tour will start at Matiatia Wharf when you disembark from the ferry (approx. 9.40 am) or we can pick up from your Waiheke holiday accommodation if you wish.
After a short drive through Oneroa village, we leave the main road and take a scenic route with wonderful views across the Hauraki Gulf and Palm Beach.
VIEW OVER PALM BEACH
No visit to Waiheke would be complete without a visit to one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. With views of Great Barrier and Little Barrier Island in the distance, Onetangi Bay has over 1.5 km of beautiful golden sand.
ONETANGI BEACH
Leaving Onetangi and we start the gentle climb towards the eastern side of the island. The drive to towards Stony Batter is spectacular and you will have plenty of time to stop and take in the view of the Gulf Islands and beyond to the Coromandel Peninsula.
The scenic drive continues south to the beautiful Man O’War Bay where you can take a walk along the lovely beach looking towards Pakatoa and Rotoroa Islands.
Man O’War winery tasting room is set back from the beach in beautiful shaded surroundings and offers a range of food and wine tasting experiences. Established in 1993, Man O’ War consists of 150 acres of vines planted in 76 individual hillside blocks. Man O’War’s superb wines include Syrah, Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay.

Leaving Man O’War Bay we follow the steep gravel road along the winding south coast of the island passing Awakiriapa Bay, Cowes Bay and Te Matuku Bay on the left with beautiful green valleys and farmland on the right.

Passage Rock Vineyard produces some of the best wine on the island and their Reserve Syrah is Waiheke’s most awarded wine with over 18 Gold Medals and 6 trophies. Established in 1993 by David and Veronika Evans Gander, Passage Rock has been one of the success stories to emerge from Waiheke it now produces some of the best Syrah in the country along with other highly rated wines from its portfolio.
Surrounded by vines their dining area has a lovely relaxed feel. The current food offering is a delicious Winemakers Platter that includes Fresh Trevaley Kokuda, Arancini, Hummus and Goats Cheese, Bruchetta and pulled middle eastern Lamb with Tzatziki.

Batch Winery has a fantastic location and boasts the highest vineyard in elevation on Waiheke Island with 360-degree views from the Coromandel to the Auckland skyline. The Family-owned winery produces wines which are crafted in small lots and produce wonderful examples of Waiheke wines including Syrah, Pinot Gris and Chardonnay,
BATCH WINERY
From Batch Winery, we travel through Oneroa to one of the best-known vineyards on the island and the final wine tasting venue for the day.
Mudbrick Vineyard is world-renowned for its award-winning wines, restaurant, Italian-inspired rustic gardens and spectacular Auckland skyline views. A wonderful place to end your Waiheke Island Wine Tour.

Depending on the time available we may return to Oneroa before heading back to the ferry terminal or drop-off point.
